Friedlieb Pfannkuch
Professor Friedlieb Pfannkuch is a qualified pathologist (anatomical pathology) and expert in non-clinical safety with extensive experience in experimental toxicology and safety assessment of all stages of drug development. From 2006 to 2013 he was the President of the Swiss Society of Toxicology.
He has also acted as the Head of Experimental Toxicology at Ciba-Geigy, Head of the Pre-Clinical Safety Section at Yamanouchi, and Senior Scientific Expert at Global Non-Clinical Drug Safety of Roche’s Pharmaceutical Division in Basel, Switzerland.
He has contributed to international pharmaceutical consortia such as toxicity testing of alternatives to CFCs propellants (IPACT), working groups of the International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) and the ILSI task force on Food Safety in Europe.
Professor Pfannkuch was the leader of the EU Framework Programme 6 project InnoMed “Predictive Toxicology” (PredTox). He also served on the Scientific Advisory Boards of the EU Framework Programme FP7 project “Predict-iv” and the Netherlands Toxicogenomics Consortium (NTC).
